Claude Dozorme is an award-winning, family-owned cutlery maker based in Thiers, France, celebrated for its exceptional craftsmanship and innovation, honed over generations. It’s a common misconception that Laguiole is a registered trademark; in fact, it refers to a style of pocket knife named after the village in Aveyron. Renowned for its distinctive curved shape and adorned with a symbolic bee design, Claude Dozorme was the pioneer in creating a non-folding version of the Laguiole specifically for tableware. As the other Claude Dozorme steak knives, the blade of the Laguiole steak knife is made with X50CrMoV15 steel, a very high quality steel. This steak knife cut very well and it’s easy to resharpen. The price of the knife is depending on the thickness of the stainless steel blade.

The guillochage of the blade, as well as all the stages of making the knife, are entirely handmade in the workshops of the Claude Dozorme cutlery, by their skilled and passionate craftsmen, trained in traditional and artisanal methods.
