A vintage raku fired stoneware bottle vase with a wide squared shoulder, a short narrow neck, and a rolled rim. The glaze has a deep iridescent deep burgandy that shifts from near-black to plum to a metallic blue depending on the light and angle. The surface has a rough, volcanic texture at the rim and lower body that contrasts with the glossier, more reflective areas at the shoulder. The form is compact and low, with a substantial base that keeps it planted.

Holds a few stems well without effort, as shown. Works just as well empty on a shelf or a counter where the glaze can do its work.
