Vintage Porcelain Serving Platter
A vintage ironstone oval platter by Red Cliff, the American maker known for heavy, well-glazed ironstone produced through the 1960s and 70s. The platter is oval with two open handles and an octagonal rim, the border detailed with a repeating grape cluster and leaf motif that runs the full perimeter. The glaze is bright white and even, with the satisfying weight that good ironstone always has.
The Red Cliff ironstone platter is generous in size and genuinely useful at a table, equally at home holding a roast or a pile of fruit or nothing at all. The surface is clean with no chips or cracks. Light utensil marks to the interior consistent with use.
The kind of piece you find once and use for the next thirty years.
