A vintage Italian alabaster box with a brass hinged frame, the stone a warm mix of blush, sandy tan, and sienna on the exterior with a fine speckled surface throughout. The interior stone deepens considerably, shifting to a rich terracotta red with dark veining that reads almost translucent when the lid is open. The brass frame runs along the hinge line and edges the opening, clean and minimal against the stone.

The box is low and rectangular with a rounded lid profile. The alabaster is polished smooth and solid in hand, the kind of object that improves simply by being left out on a surface. It works well as a jewelry box or a small catchall, and just as well with nothing in it. Minor wear consistent with age. There is only one.
