A vintage woven basket converted into a table lamp, the basket itself a tightly woven lidded form with a domed top and two arched handles rising on either side of the stem. The woven material has aged to a deep, warm brown throughout, the texture dense and even. The wide cream linen shade sits generously above it, the proportion exactly right.

The basket base is the whole story. The kind of object that was clearly made for one purpose and works just as well for another. There is something unhurried about it that carries through into the light it casts.
