Basket weavers in Ghana, West Africa, weave together twisted strands of tough elephant grass to make these floor baskets without handles sized for everyday storage. The weave is tight and structured, with a flat base and an open top that holds its shape well once settled into place. Because each basket is made by hand, dimensions are approximate and vary slightly from order to order. We do our best to ensure sizing is consistent, but small differences are part of what makes these real. If yours arrives a little out of round, a few minutes of reshaping by hand will bring it right back. The grass has a warm, natural color with the kind of texture that only comes from traditional handwork. No handles, which keeps the profile clean and low to the ground. Good for extra blankets, toys, firewood, or anything else that needs a home on the floor.
