This handbuilt white stoneware vase is one of my favorite pieces from Kati von Lehman's studio in Portland. She painted the blue florals by hand, one small six-petaled bloom at a time, so no two flowers on this vase look quite the same. It stands 12 inches tall and 5.5 inches wide, with a body that tapers in and widens gently toward the shoulder, and a clear glaze over the top that gives the whole surface a soft shine. This particular vase carries its own painted pattern, unrepeated on any other piece. There is only one.
