Vintage Souvenir Shell Dish
A vintage mother of pearl shell dish, carved and assembled into a footed compote form. The shell bowl sits on a stacked shell pedestal with a leaf and feather relief motif carved into the interior surface. The shell is iridescent throughout, shifting between cream, soft pink, and pale green depending on the light and angle. The word Portland is inscribed in cursive inside the bowl, a small piece of local history worked into an already particular object.
The rim is naturally irregular, the kind of edge that comes from the shell itself rather than damage. The carved detail is clear and the iridescence is intact. Small, footed, and genuinely one of a kind in every sense. There is only one.
