Vintage Grey Raku Cup

$38.00

A hand-built raku fired ceramic vessel with a wide flanged shoulder, a small open mouth, and a glaze of smoke, ash white, and deep charcoal that shifts across every surface. The raku firing has done what it always does — left something that looks like it came out of the earth rather than a kiln.

The glaze breaks open and pools where the clay folds at the shoulder, and there is fine incised banding visible through the surface where the clay is closest to white. Nothing about it is uniform and that is entirely the point.

Small, substantial, and completely its own thing on a shelf.

Part of Hoppe Shoppe's curated collection of vintage studio pottery and handmade ceramic vessels.
