Kintsugi Kit - Shingetsu

$138.00

A beginner shingetsu kintsugi kit made with genuine raw urushi lacquer, sourced from Japan. Shingetsu is a simplified approach to the traditional Japanese practice of repairing broken ceramics with lacquer, treating each mended crack as part of the object's history rather than something to hide. Raw urushi is the unprocessed form of the traditional resin -- the foundational material in kintsugi practice for centuries -- and this kit uses the real thing rather than synthetic alternatives. We carry this alongside the more advanced mangetsu kit for those ready to go further. Part of Hoppe Shoppe's curated collection of considered objects and tools for the home. Let your love breathe new life into your tableware.
