A vintage silverplate serving dish in the form of a scallop shell, the radiating lobed flutes running from a tight center point to a wide scalloped rim. The silver has developed a rich, uneven patina of warm grey, amber, and deep brown, brightest at the raised peaks of the fluting and darkest in the recesses. The effect is genuinely beautiful in the right light.

The kind of dish that was made for a table with some intention behind it. Oysters on ice, chilled shrimp, a composed appetizer — it elevates whatever it holds without trying to steal the show. Just as good on a sideboard between uses, where the form does all the talking.

The silverplate shows honest wear consistent with age. Unmarked on the base. The dish sits flat and stable.
