A matched white stoneware matcha bowl and chasen holder, handmade by New York ceramicist Brent Gillentine of BEG Ceramics. The two pieces are designed to work together; the matcha bowl wide and open for whisking, the chasen holder a considered companion for resting the whisk between uses and keeping the bristles shaped over time. Both are finished in the same white glaze, warm rather than stark, with the quiet variation that comes from being thrown by hand. The stoneware has a satisfying weight and an unhurried quality that makes a daily matcha practice feel like something worth setting up properly. Because each piece is made by hand, no two sets are exactly alike.
