A vintage silvered metal jewelry box cast in the form of a tufted sofa, small enough to sit in a palm. The back is shaped as a fan of rounded cushions, the arms finished with scroll ends, the seat channeled and detailed with the kind of precision that makes the scale feel considered rather than novelty. The hinge opens at the seat to reveal a red velvet interior and a small mirror set into the underside of the lid.

The silver has developed a deep patina, darker in the recesses of the tufting and scroll detail, lighter on the raised surfaces where the metal has been handled. The velvet interior is intact and the mirror is clear. It works as a ring box, a trinket holder, or simply as the most interesting object on a vanity or desk. There is only one.
